The Sacred Mount of Varese is part of the Campo dei Fiori Regional Nature Park which is located a few kilometers due north of Varese. Established in 1984, with headquarters in Brinzio, it covers about 6,300 hectares on the territory of seventeen municipalities and two mountain communities and includes two massifs: Campo dei Fiori and Martica-Chiusarella. The first one is located in the western part of the Park and overlooks Lake Varese. The highest peak is Punta Paradiso (1227 m above sea level). The second massif surrounds the eastern border with two peaks: Mount Chiusarella (912 m above sea level) and Mount Martica (1025 m above sea level). The two massifs are separated by the Rasa Valley, which joins the Valcuvia to the Olona River Valley, and within the Park there are six Nature Reserves that host the most characteristic environments. The Park can be visited thanks to its twenty trails. The area is crossed by the European E1 trail, the Jubilee trail, the Via Verde Varesina and the Anulare Valcuviano.
