Welcome!
From this ancient road, in which you find yourselves, in front of the Church of the Holy Trinity and its impressive bell tower, begins the touristic devotional path, about 45 minutes, which will lead you from the historical centre of Valperga to the summit of the Sacred Mount of Belmonte. A path rich of history, art and architecture in a very important environmental and landscaped context. A territorial area with great value whose safeguard and valorization process started with the institution in 1991 of the Special Reserve of the Sacred Mount of Belmonte and in 2003 included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Church of the Holy Trinity and the Bell Tower
Valperga is an ancient village placed on the margin of the agricultural area, at the foot of Sacred Mount of Belmonte and its Sanctuary. The distinctive layout plan of medieval origins, a crown, was reshaped at the end of the 1700s with the expansion and the new facade of the Church of the Holy Trinity (1790), designed by the great baroque architect Costanzo Michela and with the construction of the remarkable bell tower (1777-1792), designed by Ludovico Bo. The bell tower is a sort of a sceptre; it is especially highly visible by most part of the territory of Canavese. The height of 63,50 m includes it among the higher building of that age. It was built with a load-bearing structure of 558.690 bricks and spread over eight levels marked on the outside by the belt courses and geometric decorative elements. A valuable double staircase of 217 local stone steps characterizes the inside of the bell tower and leads to the bell chamber from which you can enjoy a beautiful view.
