Chapel II - The Visitation
According to some sources, the chapel was financed by the Sanctuary between the early twenties and the thirties of the seventeenth century. The sculptures depict the meeting between Mary and Elizabeth, in the background of the frescoed perspective colonnade, flanked by their husbands, Joseph and Zechariah. The group was depicted looking at the model of the corresponding episode of the Sacred Mount of Varese by Francesco Silva. It seems that even these statues were created by an artist linked to the Silva's school.
