Chapel 26 - Peter's Repentance
It depicts the scene of Peter crying when the rooster crows because he remembered the prophecy of Jesus: "Before the rooster crows you will have denied me three times."
The statues were shaped by Giovanni d’Enrico around 1640, even the frescoes that were the work of Christopher Martinoli, also known as "il Rocca" date back to the same period. At the end of the nineteenth century, the sculptor Giuseppe Antonini added the beard and hair to St. Peter.
