Chapel 45 - The Tomb of the Virgin Mary
Built in the last decade of the fifteenth century, it was decorated with frescoes representing the assumption of the Virgin Mary with the apostles and angels, now visible in the Pinacoteca of Varallo. The work was made by the Lombard workshop of the Scotto painters. When the cableway between Varallo and the Sacred Mount was built in the thirties of the twentieth century, the chapel was separated from the route and lost its importance.
