Comunicare i Sacri Monti (Communicating the Sacri Monti) – 2015-2019
The project, concluded in September 2019, aimed at strengthening the unitary and overall image of the UNESCO Site of the Sacri Monti, setting up a joint promotional and communication strategy aimed at spreading knowledge of the serial site in its entirety, providing the serial site of communication tools and integrated hospitality, with the aim of strengthening on one hand the sense of belonging of local communities and at the same time favoring the development of sustainable tourism. The planned actions concern above all the revision of the most important communication tool, the web portal of the nine Sacri Monti, and the production of a synthetic promotional brochure, both on paper and digital, as a tool for the first reception of visitors, to be used as information material already existing at each complex, but also a valid tool for distribution to operators in the tourism sector at trade fairs, salons and educational tours.
The improvement of the existing website also aimed at providing potentially interested parties with an effective tool for consulting the large amount of documentary, photographic material, graphic surveys and territorial databases acquired or produced over time by Ente di Gestione dei Sacri Monti of Piedmont and the two Sacri Monti of Lombardy, including that produced by the Documentation Centre of Sacri Monti, Calvaries and Devotional Complexes in Europe, belonging to the Piemontese Ente di Gestione dei Sacri Monti. The revised portal will also make possible to collect and enhance the results of the various projects carried out for the serial site, some of which are strategic for the spread of knowledge of the Sacri Monti, including the web and social tools produced by local children.
