Chapel 8

The pious women

This chapel was built between 1752 and 1781, with the funds donated by some families of Busano. It was frescoed by the artist Grosso of Ivrea, who depicted a group of soldiers with lances and pennants, and a sky dotted with angels. In the first decade of the 20th century, it was renovated inside, with the addition of a Palestinian landscape painted by Aluffo, and statues representing Jesus and a Woman with Child, created by the sculptor Erbetta. The painter Barengo worked at the restoration of other terracotta sculptures. The interior of the chapel was restored in 2002.
