Chapel II - The Rest of Saint Eusebius
Following the road that reaches Crea from Forneglio, at a curve, on the right, there are directions to the ancient trail that leads to the square of the Sanctuary. According to tradition, Saint Eusebius walked this trail to climb the mountain carrying the statue of the Virgin of Crea from the Holy Land. He then rested on a rock, in which a crack would have miraculously formed. This rock, "the seat of Saint Eusebius", would prove to have healing powers. At the beginning of this path there is the second chapel built by Constantino Massino around the year 1600. The scene, reconstructed in the late nineteenth century, depicts St. Eusebius resting at the foot of the statue of the Black Virgin with the statue of St. Vincent Ferrer on the right.
