Our Lady Crowned

This chapel was built on a spur of rock, in 1647, by Pietro Jacopo Canetta of Ronco. It is also informally called "devil's chapel"  because of the presence of confessionals. They are no longer there, but they were used to listen to the sins of the believers, during the three Sundays dedicated to the Holy Trinity.  On the altar, is a group depicting the Coronation of the Virgin Mary, nestled among clouds and angels. The niches along the walls contain painted terracotta statues depicting, from the left, St. Thomas, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, St. Gregory, king David, the prophet Daniel, the prophet Anna and the prophet Isaiah.
