The Nativity of Jesus

The construction of the chapel started around 1640, and was financed by the communities of Cossila and Favaro. In 1720, on the occasion of the Second Coronation, they involved in the works also the duke Carlo Emanuele II. Pietro Giuseppe Auregio set up this nativity scene, consisting of the Bethlehem hut, which was built in the local style and with a typical stone roof. The angels, sitting all around in the clouds, are playing original musical instruments or replicas in wood or plaster. The walls were frescoed by Giovanni Galliari.
