The Assumption of Mary

The works for the construction of the chapel started in 1659 and ended in the early eighteenth century, financed by the communities of Mosso, whose patron saint was St. Mary of the Assumption. The Lombard artist Giovan Battista Barberini started the modelling of the group of sculptures, which were completed by Agostino Silva in 1702. In particular, he set up the Glory and shaped the figures of the surprised Apostles, gathered around the empty sepulchre. In 1708, the Auregio brothers modified and integrated the sculptures. The walls were frescoed in 1711 by Pietro Lace, an artist from Andorno.
