It was built between 1606-1609 and contains statues by Cristoforo Prestinari. Theyrepresent Saint Francis, in the small church of San Damiano, who addresses the Cross to know what type of life he should lead. Of the original group of sculptures, only the Cross and the Angels remain, while the others were replaced in the second half of the 17th century by Dionigi Bussola, with figures in the Baroque style. The chapel was frescoed in 1608 by the della Rovere brothers, known also as the Fiammenghini. Theydepict, from the right, Francis who returns sick from the prison of Perugia, understanding the vanity of the world. Next, Francis healed, in the countryside, meeting with an impoverished noble knight and giving him his clothes. Then, Francis in a dream, sees the Lord showing him the weapons decorated with the Cross and reveals that they are for him and his knights. In the last one, Francis embraces and gives his money to Jesus, in the guise of a leper.
