The chapel was built and set up around 1618. It representsthe scene of Francis attending Mass at Porziuncola. It is listening to the passage of the Gospel about the mandate of the apostles, that he understands his apostolic vocation. The statues are the work of Cristoforo Prestinari and his workshop, while the frescoes are attributed to the local artist Giacomo Filippo Monti.
