It was built in 1640 and decorated by 1661, as witnessed by a visit of the bishop. The architecture was inspired by the models of the Sacro Monte of Varese. The frescoes are by the brothers Carlo, Francesco and Giuseppe Nuvolone from Milan (1654), while the statues are by Antonio Pino from Bellagio. The scene represents Francis, naked, among the brambles of a rose garden, where he has thrown himself to resist a carnal temptation. An Angel is trying to dress him up. On the left, some grotesque demons are escaping, while on the right, some angels are indicating the way to the Porziuncola.
