A monumental entrance
Visitors coming up from Orta San Giulio are greeted at the Sacro Monte by an elegant portal engraved with the motto: “Here, in sequential chapels, you can see Francis’ life, if you wish to know, the author is love”. In fact, it was not a single notable, a patron or a religious who built the Sacro Monte, but the love and commitment of the entire community of Orta for this monument that is part of their identity.
