The chapel was financed by the canon of Isola, Bernardo Brentano from Azzano. The seven statues were shaped by Agostino Silva. The date of completion 1664 is engraved on the helm of one of the soldiers, who is guarding the tomb. The artist of the frescoes,depicting an airy landscape with two soldiers, one of whom is caught fleeing, and on the left, the three Marys, who are going to the tomb, is unknown.
