The Healing of the Paralytic
It shows Jesus preaching to his disciples in a house in Capernaum, while a paralytic is lowered from the uncovered roof so that Jesus may heal him.
The construction of the building started in 1572, when it still did not have a roof, and was completed in 1578.
It was decorated by mixing real statues and painted figures on the walls, as explained in the Book of Mysteries by Galeazzo Alessi (1565-1572).
Since it was too small to accommodate a larger group of statues, it was expanded, adding a rectangular front structure.
The internal scene was set up with terracotta statues by Giovanni d'Enrico around 1620, while the Valsesian artist Cristoforo Martinoli decorated the walls with paintings in 1622.
