The Deposition from the Cross

Jesus is taken down from the cross by John from Arimathea with Nicodemus, the apostle John and the pious women.
Bishop Bascapè planned the construction of this chapel in 1603.

Giovanni d’Enrico, with the collaboration of Giacomo Ferro and his workshop, shaped the statues between 1637 and 1640. While the painted decoration was the work of Melchiorre Gherardini, also known as Ceranino.
