Anointing stone
The terracotta sculptures inside this chapel were made in the 19th century, but the chapel is much older and dates back to 1493.
In the interactive image, you can see the original statues in painted wood. They were made in the last decade of the 15th century and then stored in the warehouse of the Sacro Monte.Now the original statues are on display in the Pinacoteca of Varallo.
