As you have seen earlier, the chapels illustrate the mysteries of the rosary. They are divided into three groups of five mysteries: the Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries and the Glorious Mysteries. The triumphal arches are designed so as to accompany the recitation of the rosary. The road takes visitors along the fifteen mysteries and, every five chapels, an arch marks the beginning of a new cycle of mysteries. Close to each arch, a fountain refreshes the pilgrims' spirit and body.
