The Wedding of the Virgin Mary
The chapel was completed in 1612, thanks to finincing by the community of Candia Lomellina. The group, consisting of eleven statues, was created by the Tabacchetti brothers, who made the scene very emotional. In the center, the High Priest draws together the hands of the married couple, while, on the left, the rejected suitors are watching. On the right, is a group of young women. In 1858, the statues, very damaged, were reworked by Latini, who widely renewed the figures of Joseph and Mary. The 17th-century altarpiece, in polychrome terracotta, depicts the meeting between Eliezer, Abraham's servant, and Rebecca. By 1610, on the walls, Giorgio Alberini depicted groups of people among architectural elements and, on the vault, the Eternal Father.
