Chapel 11
A whole life as a lawyer, reasoning about the law. My remains and family insignia will rest on this Sacro Monte that has always been dear to me! I will ask the most illustrious Monsignor Bascapè to grant me the honor of setting up an altar to celebrate Mass, when nothing will remain of me but the memory of my loved ones. I also asked to endow the chapel with a perpetual indulgence. But he told me that it is not allowed today.
In this little temple one day frescoes and statues will celebrate the most holy Francis. He obtained indulgentia for the small church called the Porziuncola in Assisi. The chapel will also celebrate the blessed Virgin Mary and Our Redentor amid a great number of angels. The sculptor Cristoforo Prestinari works diligently to make the chapel perfect and graceful. My temple will be like the one in Assisi, in the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angioli, as can be seen in the drawings by engineer Cleto, recommended to me by bishop Bascapè.
