Meet the characters who created the Sacro Monte

This tour will introduce you to the protagonists of the Sacro Monte di Orta. Listen to their voices and go back in time.

Who built the Sacro Monte? Artists, sculptors, painters and architects are well known, but little is said about who, day by day, for three centuries, worked on this incredible project. Notables, bishops and rich merchants but also stonecutters, unskilled workers, bricklayers, and others. This tour will take you to meet some of them. At each stage you will listen to their voices and understand their stories. Follow the tour and experience this unusual time travel!
